Madison Flute Club
The Madison Flute Club began in the summer of 2002 as an adult extension class at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The class continued into the spring but was canceled when the instructor moved to Italy to be married. The flute choir continued to meet weekly at the home of one of the members. Through advertising, performances, and word of mouth, the group soon outgrew the living room space.
The flute choir now rehearses weekly at Bethany United Methodist Church and has expanded to include an auditioned chamber choir for advanced members, and also youth choirs for middle and high school students. Additionally, Madison Flute Club hosts a series of regular educational workshops that are open to the community.
The Madison Flute Club is a registered non-profit, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a member of the National Flute Association.
