Session Description:

Evocative, expressive and exuberant are words used to describe Amanda Harberg’s works for flute. Well known for her works featuring the flute and piccolo, Dr. Amanda Harberg is a compositional studies professor at Rutgers University. She has been recognized as a Fulbright-Hays fellow and a MacDowell Colony Fellow and is a renowned composer and dedicated educator in a wide range of musical fields, including composition, music theory, and contemporary music history.

Cindy Kaiser

Cindy Kaiser, flutist, is pursuing a dual degree in music performance, music education, and psychology at Lawrence University (LU). Cindy studies with Erin Lesser. She was a winner of the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir Competition (2020) and received an honorable mention for the Best Out of State Piccolo Performance from the Utah Flute Association Sonata Competition (2021). In 2022, Cindy won the LU Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition. She has worked as a flutist for the College Light Opera Company, and has attended Interlochen Arts Camp, ARIA Academy, Orford Musique Academy, DeCoda Chamber Music Festival, and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Cindy is the Flute Section Coach for the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra Sinfonia Program and a private flute teacher through the LU Community Music School.
